I photographed Hanna’s bridal session a few days ago and we had a great time! Her wedding is coming up in a couple of months and I can’t wait as I am pretty sure that we will get some fun photos! Hanna is very photogenic and we got a TON of great shots! Here are a few of my faves…
I just love this window! Nebraska Capitol in Lincoln.
What a look…
Last week I photographed Jan and Don’s wonderful wedding. We got some really GREAT shots! The ceremony and reception took place at Lauritzen Gardens. One of my favorite places to photograph!
Here are some highlights from the day…

I just had a wedding cancel for June 13, 2009. So that date is NOW OPEN! Let me know if you are looking for a wedding photographer on that date.
For the Spring 2009 issue, page 37 of Nebraska Wedding Day magazine ( www.neweddingday.com ) I was asked to comment on Midwest Bridal Association ( www.mwbride.com ). This association is a network of wedding vendors that have come together in the summer of 2008 to bring added professionalism to the wedding industry.
Below are my comments in Nebraska Wedding Day:
Prominent Omaha photographer Douglas Gunder thinks superior vendors will go out of their way to make a bride feel taken care of. “When I have a consultation with a bride, I ask questions about her wedding day - location, number of guests, size of wedding party, etc. Once I have a good idea about the type of wedding she wants, I show her samples of my work so she can see firsthand the quality of the work she will be getting,” he says. “At any time during the process, she is welcome to ask questions. I always try to make sure she feels comfortable and well-informed.”
Gunder believes the MBA will be a time-saver for brides. “It’s like a one-stop shop for the bride,” he says. “She can go to one vendor that’s a part of this network and end up with recommendations for a florist, reception hall, DJ, etc. There’s also the added security of knowing the people you’re working with have a code of ethics and standards that go along with being in the network.”
That peace of mind is a big part of the appeal for using a network like Midwest Bridal Association. In this day and age, it can be difficult to find trustworthy businesses to work with, but the MBA is a trustworthy source for the discerning bride. Working with the best ensures you can relax on your wedding day. After all, you won’t get a do-over!
This was a fun engagement session with a fun couple that I just photographed last Sunday. We went to a few different locations downtown Omaha. I met Whitney & Josh at a bridal show a few months ago. Here are a few highlighted photos from their session.
I wonder what he said to her?
Josh on Whitney’s back was his idea not mine.
This was a fun day. From what I understand, about every month Warren Buffett has a group of college business school students come here to Omaha for a day. These students are from all over the world. They tour Berkshire Hathaway, Nebraska Furniture Mart, Borsheim’s, have a Q & A group discussion with Mr. Buffett and go out for lunch with him. My assignment was to photograph the lunch. I’ve never met Mr. Buffett before but have heard all the Omaha stories about him. I found him amazing! He was friendly, funny, clown like, grandpa like, witty and very open to anyone. The students and Mr. Buffett had a great time.
We had the lunch at Piccolo Pete’s family restaurant. An old family owned, south side, midwest steak house. Not at all where you would think the world’s richest man would hang out at. But I must say Piccolo Pete’s has great food and friendly people to help you. After the lunch Mr. Buffett gets up and walks out into the parking lot to take photos with the students. He was I bet there taking photos for 1 or 2 hours with over 100 people in 50 degree spring weather. Not leaving until EVERYONE had gotten many photos with him. He was striking every pose you can imagine. A real ham in front of the camera. I think Mr. Buffett enjoys being with all the young college students as much as they did with him. Here are some of the photos. They are hilarious!
Mr. Buffett bought everyone a root beer float. One of his favorites!
